Import

This section only applies to the following system types:

• Microsoft Active Directory
• Microsoft Windows Local Accounts
• Linux

The actions or operations described in this section are performed once, for each distinct server group (e.g. domain). If the group structure is changed in the target system, AND the new groups are to have different policies set than the Default policy setting, it is required to perform this operation again.

Some systems supported by the Enforcer allow policy mapping using group or containers, to allow different policies to be set, depending on the group or organizational membership of the user performing the password change. For systems like Active Directory, it is required to import an initial group structure from an existing EPAS Audit target system (e.g. domain controller).

The operation corresponding to target system retrieval in the EPAS Audit component is described in the EPAS Operations Manual, section 2.1 and is no longer described here.

Warning

It is assumed that an existing audit target exists in the Targets » Targets List menu, which is usable in audits. It is also assumed that a recent target retrieval (or audit job) has been performed for the audit target. Make sure that one such target exists before attempting the Import procedure.

Import group structure into Enforcer

To import the group structure into the Enforcer, navigate to a Server Group object, and use the Import tab on the top-side of the page. Select the appropriate target system which contains the group structure (e.g. a domain controller in the same environment), and click the Import button.

Upon completion, the task will notify the EPAS administrator on the count of imported groups and / or containers.

Upon further visits to the page, the following informational values are shown:

Information	Description
Selected target system	The name of the target system (Active Directory) which the group structure for the current server group belongs to
Structure date	The date when the group and organizational unit structure was last imported. Note that any groups created after this date will not appear in the Policy Assignment tab until a new import procedure is done
